Our
Roots
The Summer at Porter’s Journey
At Summer at Porter’s, girls grow in confidence and character, discover their strengths and sense of belonging and lead with courage and purpose. Campers return because of how they feel and who they become, not simply because of what they do at our programs. Summer after summer, friendship becomes sisterhood, new experiences become lifelong skills and Porter’s becomes a summer home that grows with them, shaping who they are and the impact they make beyond Farmington.
Our Mission
Through Summer at Porter’s, we create a joyful and inclusive community where every girl feels a true sense of belonging. Through friendship, sisterhood, leadership and shared experiences, we help girls build confidence, discover their strengths and grow into their authentic selves.
grow • discover • lead
Summer at Porter’s is rooted in the legacy of Miss Porter’s School and its enduring commitment to educating young women. Since 1843, generations have come to Porter’s to learn more about themselves, discover what they are capable of, and thrive in a community built for them. At Summer at Porter’s, we bring that same spirit to camp, giving girls opportunities to try new things, take risks, build confidence, and discover more about themselves along the way. As campers grow, their journey at Summer at Porter’s grows with them.

With a stronger sense of self comes a bigger world to explore. Campers choose new paths, pursue emerging interests, take meaningful risks and begin to see possibilities they may not have imagined before.
Lead at Leaders in Training (and beyond)
Lead with confidence. Lift others. Make an impact.
Girls step forward as leaders, taking on real responsibility, supporting younger campers and putting their strengths into action. Along the way, they build professional skills and discover the impact they can have on the people and communities around them.
